A Library Book I'm Reading
So, I borrowed this book from my library:
Sex With Kings: 500 Years Of Adultery, Power, Rivalry, And Revenge by Eleanor Herman
I'm on chapter 9 now and one of the things that came to my mind was how many of those royal mistresses plundered the royal treasury through various means. While we don't have Aristocracy or Royalty (well, not the Monarchical type - but those whose families are in spheres of influence are just as good as being in that category) some of the people who shape our country have both power and wealth aplenty but just like those royal whores, are greedy for more.
Ol' Orange Head and those he surrounds himself with are of that ilk. His latest moves and that of those working with him feel as if he's making it easier for himself (and others who are also in power right along with him) to 'plunder the treasury' by redirecting funds through his cuts and creating a distraction with his other executive orders.
It isn't beneficial for the ordinary citizens who are barely surviving economically, as it is, and then there's all those dangerous other little orders. With him and his people at the helm, could we be headed for another major health crisis? Not to mention his alienating a great many countries that we have to live side by side or cooperate with. I suspect he's laying the foundation down so he can secretly line his already bulging pockets or those he's working with. It's just the same tune I suspected his first time around, only this time, he's become much more dangerous to our country and to our citizens who aren't in positions of power and cannot protect themselves without the help of the government.
Now we see just how well our Constitution and hallowed institutions will weather the next 4 years. Not to mention, same as last time he was in charge, I fear he will try and overturn the two term limit and plunge us all into chaos or turn us into his little dictatorship.
Who knew, I could find some parallels in a book with a random history topic to it.
